Griffiniskaja Laul 04 was the fourth edition of the Griffiniskaja Laul musical event and Waiting List Song Contest national final. The contest will take place in the principality of Eestimadnait principality following their victory at the previous edition.

Location

The contest was held in Eestimadnait. It was the second time (in a row) the principality would host the contest, following their victory at the third edition with the song "Stranger", performed by IIRIS. Preparations for the contest began immediately after the principality of Eestimadnait won. The executive supervisor of the Griffiniskaja Televisioon (GTV) announced that the main channel GTV 1 would co-organise the event with regional broadcaster GTV EEM.

Bidding phase

Rizsit

Rizsit, Eestimadnait hosted the event.

Already prior to the contest, some cities like Sania announced their intent to host the contest should the Eestimadnait win. A spokesperson for GTV stated that the broadcaster had a rough plan for how they would select the host city announcing the first "open bidding phase".

In the first phase of the process, cities were to formally apply to bid. Seven cities — Pyetsit, Filipolis, Sania, Rizsit, Busk, Vilabradwõt and Õhtingsvilajet — did so and received a list of criteria they and their venues needed to meet. From this point on, these cities had to compile their bid books to demonstrate their capabilities to host the contest. During this period, town of Õhtingsvilajet withdrew because of both its size and unsuitable venue.

On the 5th October 2020, it was announced that Rizsit would host the event.
