The 189th edition of the Nation Song Contest was held in Lacrea following its victory in Biflovatia in NSC 188. It is the first full edition of the year 2021.
Aclaira and Ic-Sa-Calli returned after a 1-edition break, while Begonia and Il-Bidu withdrew. On 5 February 2021, the national broadcaster of Il-Bidu announced the country's full withdrawal from the NSC roster.
New Bander State got its second win with "Foolish Parley" by The Lathums, edging out runner-up Kalos Metropolis by 5 points. Completing the top 6 were Tuzi, Rahasia-Diati, Doire and Tanoiro.
