SOLFIESTA
Solfiesta is the national selection process that is aired on SOL TV 1 annually, and features many of the biggest singers on the music scene in Solentoya at that time. Although this was first edition in which the winner was selected to represent the country at an international contest, Solfiesta is a decades old event. The event is always held at the Sola Arena in San Luciana, and in this occasion hosted by the tv presenter Holly Willoughby.
The winner of the edition was the French language group Arcadian with their song Petit a Petit. Petit a Petit come 2nd with the international/national juries, however a significant win with the televotes meant it went on to win and overcome the jury winner Barbara Opsomer.
FORMAT
The final show of Solfiesta features somewhere between 6 & 8 songs, depending on the submissions of that year. On this edition, 6 songs featured. The voting was split 50% televote, 25% International Jury & 25% National Jury. Each jury present their votes using 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 & 1 points (in the case of a 6 song edition the 10 pointer is dropped), 12 to their favourite song and 1 to their least favourite. After this televote is allocated as one group, with the points given based on the percentage of the vote the song got from the public.
RESULTS
The overall winner was Arcadian being carried by the televotes, however Barbara Opsomer was the winner overall with the jury voting. At the Waiting List Song Contest, Arcadian went on to come 2nd place.
