The Waiting List Song Contest 211 was the 211th edition of the Waiting List Song Contest and was hosted by Effiland following their victory at the edition prior. The edition will be hosted by previous winners Effiland. Griffin Empire won for the third time, Pyreica came second and host country, Effiland came in third place. Il-Bidu failed to vote.

Location

The contest was held in Sillhammer, the capital of Effiland on the river Pår which divides the capital in half before joining the Gulf of Fröy. Older parts of the city were mainly founded on the southern banks and Albandt Street, although unknown by the foreigners, was a secluded part of the old town, cherished by the locals.

Located in one of the northern and more modern districts of the city, Hilton Hotel hosted the opening ceremony. Specifically chosen as it is right in the centre of Sillhammer and a short walking distance away from attractions, Hilton Hotel also provided accomodation to all delegations. All expenses were covered by Effilands Television and Municipality of Metropolitan Sillhammer. Making guests comfortable is culturally taken very seriously in Effiland.

Venue

Congresium Arena in outer Sillhammer ring was chosen as the host venue. Though more than 30 years old, Congresium Arena was newly refurbished to host bigger indoor events such as concerts, musicals, live theatre and such. With its capacity for more than 42,000 people, it's a popular venue, especially for bigger artists that can fill up a stadium. One of the latest noticable acts before the contest was Maruv on her international tour, who represented Oussou Empire with the song "If You Want Her" and was placed 3rd at the WLSC 207.

Silhammerkasten

Located in the heart of old town, Sillhammer Castle overlooks the Gulf of Fröy. Now a popular tourist destination, Sillhammer Castle is the place where the first constitution of Effiland centuries ago. Hence the name Constitution Hill.

The bidding announcement came with its controversy. Since Effiland's winning entry "Oggi è Il '93" was representing Grand Duchy of Breiðdalsbar in the national final, many cities surrounding the Grand Duchy's capital advocated for the autonomous Breiðdalsbar's right to host the contest. Effiland's Television denied all accusations of foul play, stating that, although Arena Braedstadt was perfectly capable of hosting an event to such magnitude, the country's capital was better equipped with the infrastructure that can support the additional responsibilites that come with hosting the show. Grand Duchess gave a cordial statement, wishing a happy and succesful WLSC edition to everyone involved, inviting international guests also to Breiðdalsbar.
